    Responsibilities

    • Mid-level position that provides support with planning, coordinating, and implementing the organization’s information security.
    • Provides support for facilitating and helping agencies identify their current security infrastructure and define future programs.
    • Designs and implements security related to IT systems.
    • Performs risk analyses that includes risk assessment; providing support to plan, coordinate, and implement the organization’s information security; providing support for facilitating and helping agencies identify their current security infrastructure and define future programs. Conducts analysis of software for risk assessment and approval into the software baseline.
    • Responsible for providing highly technical and specialized guidance and solutions to complex security problems;
    • Performs analyses and studies; preparing reports and providing presentations to management;
    • Performs duties independently or as a member of a team, providing technical input to the Senior Security Specialist related to FISMA issues and when required, providing technical input to the IRS FISMA reporting team.
    • Presents a working knowledge in many areas including understanding business security practices and procedures, knowledge of currently available security tools, implementation of hardware/software security, various communication protocols, encryption techniques/tools, familiarity with commercial products and current technology.
    • Demonstrates very good oral and written communication skills.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Mathematics or Engineering. Other degree disciplines considered with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in security IT analysis and implementation.

     

    Minimum Experience:

    Has a minimum of five (5) years of experience in cybersecurity engineering field conducting security and compliance assessments, testing technical controls, and a full understanding of the Certification & Accreditation (C&A) or A&A process, and understanding of NIST 800-53. Individual must hold a DOD 8570.01 IASAE Level II certification: CASP CE; CISSP (or Associate); or CSSLP.

     

    Active DoD security clearance is required.
