    Responsibilities

    An agile development environment providing services to multiple teams in a Department of Defense, USTRANSCOM, Enterprise Integration Lab (EIL) located at Scott AFB, IL.  The integrator primarily builds, deploys, and tests software to include portals, portlets, services, business process models, and patches on a primarily Linux platform.  Thoroughly vets configuration changes to the environment, upgrades to system software, and architecture modifications. The engineer provides technical expertise in addressing problems of software integration.  Review software deliverables to verify consistency and applicability to the EIL and industry standards.

    • Perform builds of delivered capabilities
    • Assist development teams with creation of deployment packages
    • Review EIL processes, procedures and recommend/implement improvements
    • Liaise with development and test teams and system administrators
    • Provide developers and testers feedback during retrospectives
    • Execute capability tests per test/development team instructions
    • Validate deployments meet EIL standards and industry best practices

     

    Qualifications

    • 4-year Degree in math, computer science, information systems, or engineering preferred with 3 years of experience.
    • Security +
    • ITIL Foundation
    • Strong Linux skills, to include scripting, monitoring, troubleshooting
    • Knowledge of hardware, software, and network connectivity
    • Demonstrate a methodical approach to work activities
    • Possess a strong attention to detail
    • Communicate (verbal and written) effectively with teams, peers, and management
    • Create/Modify documentation (i.e. processes, procedures, standards, etc.)
    • Experience with Windows workstation/server platform and Office Suite
    • Familiarity with SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL RDBMS, to include SQL
    • Familiarity with open source web server and servlet containers (e.g. Apache Tomcat)
    • Familiarity with open source enterprise portlet projects (e.g. Liferay)
    • Familiarity with open source testing tools (e.g. Cucumber)
    • Familiarity with open source code repositories (e.g. Git)
    • Familiarity with business process modeling platforms (e.g. webMethods)
    • Familiarity with an open source architecture and agile development environment
    • Exposure to the following technologies or similar competitor offerings:  Apache Tomcat, RHEL, Jenkins, Nexus, GIT, VMWare, Liferay, SoftwareAG webMethods

      *Active Secret clearance is required.
