The individual performing these tasks may be a former professional in a specific field, such as engineering, information technology, science, finance and other industries or a good communicator with interest in the technical areas. The job involves writing articles, reports, manuals, processes, and procedures to support the operations of the operations of the organization. Organizing materials and completing writing assignments based on set standards; maintaining records or files to be used in revisions; editing written materials prepared by other writers; interviewing or communicating with other professionals to determine technical specifications of the topic; reviewing published materials and making necessary changes; selecting illustrations, photographs and other art materials for the article; assisting in layout of materials before publication; reviewing trade catalogs; and attending industry events, among others.
